Are you still with me?

Well, yes...I've been a bit busy with a family reunion, birthdays, deaths, canning jam, entertaining my granddaughter and of course....dreaded work. I finally took some pictures of the things I've been up to..

Me and Granddaughter Eva in the cherry orchard. We rode around the ranch and pond in G-Grandpa's golf cart...Eva was in heaven, must have thought it was an amusement park ride.

The Beer Drinking contest at our Portuguese family reunion at Coyote Ranch.
L-R: Jordan (my son), Paul (nephew), Steph (niece) and Marsha (sister-in-law). They came in second only because Steph left a few oz of foam in the bottom of the baby bottle (no fair)...I was cracking up because my son had to drink from a glove...after ripping the thumb off. I didn't know he could down a beer that fast. I must say, of the four groups he was the fastest glove squeezer. Paul drank from a straw! Nasty. Nasty. Nasty. As I said, Steph drank from a baby bottle, that was insane! Then Marsha had to pour her beer into a champagne glass and hold it up so it was like a water fall...it didn't quite happen that way but she chugged it all down. They were the only group drinking before the contest as you can see. This contest was actually the highlight of the reunion because everyone was cheering and taking videos and pictures...

These are the cherries my son Skye and I picked, some I dried and some I froze. Then I picked and canned Santa Rosa plums and Blenheim apricots into jam. What an arduous process in the heat...most of the time I canned early morning or late night...

A total of thirty half pints and ten pints of jam !!!! And I'm not done....

My Dad turned 91 on July 3rd...his sister just turned 96 in June!

I lost one of my very dearest friends, Patty, to cancer. She was a fabulous cooking teacher, and she loved her job! Between the school where she taught, her hubby and "our gang" we had a wonderful memorial...and she just happened to be one of the funniest chicks I knew!

L-R top: Jeri, Vonne, Didi. Bottom L-R: Dottie, Patty and me.

Hi, pink. Gosh, you have been busy! Congrats to Dad nd his sister. They seem in fine form. Please give them my love from Sicily.

Sorry for your loss. I am thinking of you.

I totally agree about canning in the heat - got to do some myself tomorrow. I will toast you during the process!
